Holly Ryan

Sea Bubs proudly want to share, acknowledge and appreciate all our artists who we work with. It is important to give back to community and share the stories of all first nations peoples and the stories and lessons they choose to share with us and our little ones.

Holly Ryan is an Indigenous artist who has lived on Bunurong Country her entire life. Drawing inspiration from her family’s history, Holly’s great grandfather, Joe Johnson, is recognized as the first Aboriginal man to play in the VFL (AFL), while her grandfather, Percy Johnson, also made his mark in the AFL.As a contemporary artist, Holly combines her passion for graphic design—shaped through her university studies—with connection to her cultural heritage. Her work is a dynamic fusion of modern design and Indigenous art, offering a unique perspective that bridges both worlds. Driven by a passion for learning and sharing knowledge, Holly is committed to engaging with her community through her art, using it as a tool to educate, celebrate, and preserve Indigenous culture. Through her creative practice, Holly seeks to heal and empower herself and her family, reconnecting with their roots and strengthening their bond to culture.
